More Than My Eye

 

I was visiting Shelley over at This Eclectic Life and as usual she was doing another interesting meme. Maybe, it is my vanity or maybe I just want you all to get to know me for more than my sometimes off center views on the world. Who knows, but Shelley allowed me to hijack this meme and so here goes nothing.

I was born to parents unknown in a little… heh heh heh. I always wanted to start a memoir that way. Oh never mind… here are the danggone pics!

Yes ya’ll it is the year 1974 and I am two years old. You can tell by the FAB- U -Lous silver aluminum Christmas tree that my Dad’s brother jumped both feet first into the 70’s Decor.

Check it out in the background you can even see the light that made the tree turn colors. That was “sharp” sho nuff.

The Afro was curled and picked to perfection and by some miracle I was still clean. Must have been early in the day!

I was 18 years old and this was my First Date. I wonder where he is now? Hmmm. My cousin swore he looked sneaky but we were just friends and he was the perfect gentleman. We went to my Catholic high schools version of Homecoming and left early to catch a movie. Predator if I’m not mistaken. It was 1990.

Well, This was prom. I didn’t go solo but I thought I’d save everyone the embarrassment of seeing my date in is Purple Satin Suit with black lace. *SIGH* I was so embarrassed only one date photo of this horrendous prom exists and I’d rather you see naked baby pictures than my Prom date looking like a pimped out Barney. My mother kept that sofa for a really long time. It was comfortable as all sin but U-G-L-Y!!!!

This is the First Year of College and I do believe I caught my husband with a similar pose. The year is 1992. Beret, Stirrup Pants…Sometimes “Fashion” just happens, but hey the ugly couch is gone now!

 

Okay, between these two pictures was a wedding. It was a small intimate affair. Unfortunately all mementos of the joyous occasion were lost in a “mysterious” and “tragic” grilling accident. The only proof that the union occurred is the 10 page divorce decree that I now keep in a file cabinet.
